I’m a Creative Producer,

Jason Gutierrez

2 years of technical precision meeting 22 years of human advocacy. I reveal the extraordinary within the ordinary, using light and lens to give voice to those changing the world.

My Story

Every frame is a choice between looking and seeing. For over two decades, I’ve used the art of cinematic storytelling to bridge the gap between complex social issues and the human heart.

Since 2003, I have operated at the intersection of technical rigor and social advocacy. As a boutique media production house, I’ve spent the last 11 years dedicated to California’s largest non-profits and health equity advocates, ensuring their stories are told with the dignity they deserve.

My work is rooted in the belief that the mundane holds the most profound truths. I lean into the unique textures of vintage optics and modern high-resolution workflows, but the technology is always secondary to the message. At Subliminal Stories, the goal is to reveal the magical realism hidden in the everyday—transforming the ordinary into something truly memorable for those fighting for a fairer world.

My Works

One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin.

Experience

Storytelling has always been at the center of my life. Growing up in Los Angeles, I was drawn to both the craft of filmmaking and the power it has to shape how we see ourselves and each other. That passion led me to study at the USC School of Cinema and Television, and into a career in media production where I’ve spent nearly twenty years working as a producer, director, cinematographer, and editor. Today I run Subliminal Stories, a creative agency that partners with nonprofits, foundations, and brands to create cinematic media with purpose. Much of my work lives in the space where art meets impact: campaigns that elevate community voices, documentaries that bring urgent issues to light, and branded content that does more than just sell...it connects. What I bring to every project is a balance of craft and care. I believe authenticity is the key to building trust with an audience, and I approach each story with that principle in mind. If you’re looking for a creative partner who can help translate vision into moving images, whether for a nonprofit campaign, a brand story, or a documentary film, I’d love to connect.
